[edit] About me
Hello. I like knowledge, and have a fair amount thereof, and this is reason enough for me to be here. Let no one say I lack for modesty, though; I mostly copyedit and fix small factual errors.
I'm male and between the ages of 16 and 26.
My interests include law, philosophy, literature, philosophy of law, philosophy of literature, and law & literature. (And politics and current events and blah blah blah.) Plus some unpredictable and desultory pop-culture things...
As of December 9, 2005, I am a 133 on the Wikipediholic test.

I, the author, hereby agree to waive all claim of copyright (economic and moral) in all content contributed by me, the user, and immediately place any and all contributions by me into the public domain; I grant anyone the right to use my work for any purpose, without any conditions, to be changed or destroyed in any manner whatsoever without any attribution or notice to the creator.

We've reached a sad place in our country (well, my country) if one can't put someone's picture on a website if we didn't take it, without his explicit consent. The presumption should be in favor of free use, not restriction and stasis. The fear seems primarily one of lawsuits, so I promise not to sue just because you use something I wrote. You might be a no-good plagiarizer, but as far as I'm concerned you're no criminal.
[edit] Minor edits
I only mark an edit as minor if:
-
- It's only changing individual characters (your > you're; "this, and that" > "this and that")
- It's only fixing typos, misspellings, etc.
- It's completely uncontroversial (or at least as uncontroversial as anything here can get) and uninteresting—i.e., there's no chance that someone interested in the article might want take note of the edit
[edit] "Show preview" button
I don't use it nearly as much as I should. Without a doubt, this will keep me from achieving true happiness, but it will inflate my edit total much faster!
[edit] External links
I've gone back and forth on this, but this part of the external links style guide makes me think the time is near to really start culling extraneous material. I've been responsible for some of that, to be sure—some relatively recently—but the most obvious insights—like, "it takes under half a second to Google something"—always seem to take time.

[edit] Biases
It seems all the high-powered users have a section like this, so...
[edit] Politics/Philosophy
I'm a small-"l" libertarian (though I despise labels, I think they're a necessity for most political discourse). This means I basically agree with everything in this document (which isn't to say that I support the Libertarian Party, which is, at present, a profoundly confused organization, to say the least).
Recent currents in continental philosophy also fascinate me.
Bias in my edits isn't much of a problem, if only because I rarely do anything major.

[edit] World's Smallest Political Quiz
- Personal Freedom: 100%*
- Economic Freedom: 100%
* NOTE: The last version I took gave me a Personal Freedom score of 95%, because I was neutral on the question of open immigration. This question is no longer on the quiz.
