[edit] Ooops

I reverted your near-blanking of Pacific Swallow. It is not the same as Welcome Swallow

I thought it was vandalism at first, but I can see what you were trying to do, so apologies for that. I've set up the new article - perhaps you can add text?jimfbleak 05:11, 9 Jun 2004 (UTC)

If you need any help on bird articles, let me know - I'm thinking in terms of things like world distribution, author etc, that you might not have to hand. Like the photos. user:jimfbleak

I like the photos you're producing. I've added bits of extra text where I can. If you think of it, when you set up a new species article, can you make sure that there is a lower case redirect. This is part of an agreement with regard to capitalisation of bird species. I've done it for the wattlebird and the teal. Keep up the good work, user:jimfbleak

Super thanks - will do. --Zarni02 11:04, 17 Jun 2004 (UTC)

[edit] sounds

I don't think there is a preferred format for sounds in bird articles - there are very few that have any. It's a good idea if the sounds are available. If there is any prob. with formatting, one of the computer-literates like UtherSRG will probably fix it. user:jimfbleak

[edit] Wikipedia:Sound

Thank you for taking action on the contentious issue of using non-OGG sound in Wikipedia. I'm afraid you're in for a lot of flak, but I support your efforts. I will attempt to contribute to all sides of the ensuing debate in an attempt to help build a consensus, but it'll be a long, hard road, I think. ☺ -- Jeff Q 00:16, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] References across namespaces

Hey, could you not add links to other namespaces in wikipedia articles (like Wikipedia:), you (or someone else) put some links to the wikipedia namespace and i'd appriciate it if you chagned it back.

A Wiki-God (Raul654) has taken control of the sound issues, and has re-written the sound pages. Heaps of people have been hacking away so I'm not sure which problem this might be? --Zarni02 02:20, 31 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Also the Wikipedia:Sound help was a dupe of WP:Sound so i made that a redirect. -- Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 20:30, 2004 Jul 30 (UTC)

Cool. There was a lot of duplication in the old sound pages and am not sure Raul has picked them all up. --Zarni02 02:20, 31 Jul 2004 (UTC)
It should be mentioned perhaps that i'm not really in this issue (whatever the issue is) Raul asked me to tell you this before he went out of town, supposedly about something – what i dont relly know, anyway he'll probably talk to you at a later date. In any case it's not really good linking across namespaces due to reasons i'm too sleepy to get into. Have fun.. or whatever. -- Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 03:54, 2004 Jul 31 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging

Hi! Thanks for uploading Image:WelcomeSwallowSmall.jpg and Image:WhiteBelliedSeaEagleSmall.jpg. I notice they currently don't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know their copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release them under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, hike395 06:04, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Here for the same thing, in my case on Image:PacificBlackDuck.jpg. Here is a magic list of Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. You probably want the GFDL and/or the Creative Commons and/or PD tags if you're releasing these images to Wikipedia/the world. THANK YOU! :) jengod 20:48, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
And WillieWagtail.jpg, too --nixie 22:40, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
My Willie Wagtail picture can be deleted. The master and guru of Australian bird pictures, User:Tannin, replaced the pictures on the Willie Wagtail page with much much better ones --Zarni02 04:51, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Released all as Public Domain {{PD-self}}. This is just for fun. I am never going to be rich or famous from these and would be chuffed if they turned up somewhere else. --Zarni02 04:44, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)-

[edit] Some Australian birds

Hi. If you're looking for some more articles to write, my To do list has a number of Australian birds that don't yet have articles - I'm very happy for you to get there before I do! All the best SP-KP 18:56, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Personal information in filename

I think you should re-upload the image on Commons under a suitable name, then contact one of the Commons admins asking them to speedily delete the file with the personal information. Conscious 09:27, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

As for preventing this, this personal information was probably taken from the image description page on Wikipedia; just don't post it. Also consider uploading images directly to Commons so that you control the filename. Conscious 09:30, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
