Yosui Inoue (井上陽水 Inoue Yosui?) (born August 30, 1948 - ) is a Japanese singer-songwriter. Starting out singing in school contests his big break came on the late night radio show Shash Eleven when he performed his song "Kandore Mandore" under the stage name he was using at the time. "Kandore Mandore" became the most requested song on the show and was picked up for release by CBS/Sony records. He started performing under his real name and released his first album Rupture in 1972. Rupture spent 2 years on the charts and was number one a total of six different times. Following that success Yosui Inoue formed his own management agency and record label which is still active as of 2005. He released a retrospective of his career and influences in 2001.
