Yogi's Gang

In Yogi's Gang (produced by Hanna-Barbera and airing 16 half-hour episodes on ABC from September 8, 1973, to August 31, 1975) Yogi Bear and Boo Boo are accompanied by various classic Hanna-Barbera characters (Huckleberry Hound, Quick Draw McGraw, Snagglepuss, Wally Gator, Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy, Magilla Gorilla, Peter Potamus, Atom Ant, Secret Squirrel, Ricochet Rabbit, Yippee, Yappee, and Yahooey, Touché Turtle, Lippy the Lion, and Squiddly Diddly, among others) as they travel around the world in a flying ark, searching for a paradise to call home, a place without pollution or crime. The show began as Yogi's Ark Lark, a special TV Movie on ABC that was designed to raise awareness of ecological damage to the planet. By the way, Watch Out for Dick Dastardly and Muttley, I think?

In the 1980s, both the movie and the series were lampooned by Marvel Comics in a Spider-Ham story (one of his many appearances in the Marvel humor anthology comic What The...?!). In this story, Yogi and the gang attempt to steal a NASA rocket and relocate to another planet instead of finding paradise on Earth.

During the course of the Yogi's Gang series, Yogi and his friends encounter a variety of villains, such as Mr. Pollution, Mr. Smog, Lotta Litter, the Envy Brothers, Mr. Hothead, Mr. Bigot, the Gossipy Witch, Mr. Vandal, the Sheik of Selfishness, Mr. Fibber, Mr. Waste, the Prankster, and the Greedy Genie, who embody some of the most common human faults and vices.

After a successful run on Saturday mornings, the show was syndicated under the title Yogi Bear and Friends.
