Dynasty Warriors 4: Xtreme Legends Yet another Dynasty Warriors expansion by the well known game development company Koei and their partners, Omega Force. This expansion had been exclusive to the PS2 gaming system only, thus reflecting their regular bias towards to Microsoft. This expansion was released in the United States during the 3rd of November, 2003.

As like all the expansions that Koei has made, you can't expect that much in return. To start things off - as like in every expansion, Koei has allowed for you to now play on either rhte Beginner or Chaos level difficulties. Within the new Arena Challenge Mode however, you are allowed to engage in a feat of 1-on-1 duels against various opponents, in which you will be rewarded if your results are at all good. As like the other expansions, you need the original DW4 game disc if you wish to play external modes once again such as Musou Mode. DW4XL however seems to have slightly improved weather effects and character reflections within the overall graphics. The new Legend Mode also is included as to elaborate on the individual prowess of each individual warriors within Dynasty Warriors. Your individual weapons also seem to have their own 11th evolved state, in which you can transfer this, along with other attained levels of ability within the original DW4 via disk insertion. Due to the great emphasis in the unique dueling system in this expansion, it is at times seen as it's own individual game - separate from the original Dynasty Warriors 4. As to these facts, it seems that this expansion is more promising then others such as Xtreme Legends for DW5.
