Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends the first Xtreme Legends installment by the game development company Koei, and their underlings - Omega Force. This expansion to Dynasty Warriors 3 had been releaed on January 7th, 2003 within the US.

Within this first expansion for the popular Dynasty Warriors series, it is thought that more had been expanded. As like all other expansions, you must insert the original Dynasty Warriors 3 in order to retrieve random game information, such as being able to play as Wei characters in Musou mode once again, or so forth. When it comes to the new features within this expansion, all other characters (Diao Chan, Lu Bu, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao, Zhang Jiao, Meng Huo, and Zu Rong) have a musou mode. Due to the average quality of an average character's musou mode, many random missions that had been made up were inserted as a story mode mission for these other characters. A new more promising bonus within this expansion allows for each character to attain their very own 5th weapon which don't seem to have any external characteristics other than being more stronger. However, the element of wind can now be chosen with your 5th weapon. Other than this, 4 new challenge modes are now playable and you are now allowed to either play at the Beginner level or the Expert level. Many new advanced songs have been added and over 26 new sequencial cutscenes have been added (non CGI animated). Koei believed that it would be right to be more readily rewarded for combo valiance, in which they made it so you would have a higher item drop rate reflecting your performance. Along with the addition of 15 new items, you are also able to fully customize your bodyguards.
