[edit] Impressive article (Citroën Fukang)

Just saw it, and I liked it. Well written - it seems you've been watching Wikipedia for a while :) James Kendall [talk] 22:46, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

P.S. I second that. Any chance you could add a photo? That would make it even better! --kingboyk 19:45, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The KLF

Hi! Thanks for your (ongoing) edits to The KLF. I don't take ownership of the article but I have it on my watchlist so I can check it's not being vandalised. Your edits are good of course, I'm just writing to ask you to use edit summaries. It helps people who have the page on watch to get an idea about what you are doing. Thanks! --kingboyk 19:43, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page Moves

Please be careful with page moves. Carter USM has been in that slot since February 2004 without objection, and then you come along and unilaterally change it. I'm not at all used to seeing a hyphen in their name (on the albums it's 2 squares of course), and Carter USM/U.S.M. is a well known short form even used by the band themselves. Your move also caused double redirects. Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine would be acceptable, but I think unneccessary - so, if you want it moved please propose and discuss on the talk page. Likewise, your move to XL recordings is just plain incorrect, as you didn't capitalise Recordings. --kingboyk 17:10, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

It was wikepedia that wouldnt allow XL Recordings not me...originally I changed it to XL Recordings but the system wouldnt allow it. Carter - The Unstoppable Sex Machine is the way they are categorized in the Guinness Book of Hit Singles and Albums from page 96, edition 18 - only USM was in their cat number never had a listing as Carter USM...Page 213 of THECOMPLETE BOOK OF THE BRITISH CHARTS SINGLES AND ALBUMS by Neil Warwick, Jon Kutner and Tony Brown has the act down as...Carter - The Unstoppable Sex Machine again no mention that the act is shortened to Carter USM.
However page 375 of Guinness for Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark it states Group is often known as OMD, so in this case it would be justified Xljesus 17:29, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
I don't have the CDs with me, but if you go to their official site you'll see that even they refer to themselves as Carter USM. I'm pretty sure the spine of 101 Damnations says "Carter U.S.M.". The point, though, is that it's probably being a bit too bold to suddenly change the name of a 2 year old article when there's clearly some disagreement over how they're named. So, if you still want it moved, please discuss it on the talk page. I'm not saying it can't be moved, but that it ought to be discussed first.
You're right that Mediawiki wouldn't allow the XL page move because XL Recordings was already occupied, but that is not an excuse to move it to the wrong place. All it needs is an administrator to do the move for you. You may well say "I don't know any admins" but you do now (me!) so if you need a page moved in future to a slot which is already occupied - or if you're not sure about something - just come ask me, ok? I appreciate that you're here because you love music (and so do I) and want to help, so I'll try not to bite :) --kingboyk 17:37, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
also if you look in the edit history for XL I says its (not XL records it is XL Recordings) with the capital...so blame me blame the system!!! Xljesus 17:29, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
That's because I've already fixed it :) --kingboyk 17:37, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
'well if you have to edit a history comment thats going a bit to far!!!
No, I've moved the page to XL Recordings (in other words, I agreed with you on that one - it should be XL Recordings, but not XL recordings). When I move the page, the edit history goes with it too. So, all your edits to XL Records, XL recordings etc, will now appear in your edit history list as XL Recordings. It's because the edits are all stored in a relational database. --kingboyk 17:48, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

I thought I just told you to discuss any page move first?! You've already gone and moved the Carter page again! --kingboyk 17:38, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Let's leave it at Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine unless anyone objects. That's a decent compromise I think and it looks fine to me. I've fixed the double redirects so nothing is broken any more. --kingboyk 17:54, 18 March 2006 (UTC) Thats fine by me, plus it wont get mistaken for Kiss AMC (ha ha)!

Never heard of em, but Google says they did a Peel session so that's cool.
Now, look. I've spent the last hour or more trailing behind you clearing up your mess. You're moving pages left right and centre to bizarre names which don't reflect the way we do things round here. I am going to ask you not to move any page until you have discussed it on the talk page first, or you have checked me with my on talk page. Dave Lee / Joey Negro for example is not how we do things. For a start, you have superflous spaces between the slash and the words. Second, it goes against our naming conventions (which I want you to read).
This policy in a nutshell This policy in a nutshell:
Generally, article naming should give priority to what the majority of English speakers would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature.
Another way to summarize the overall principle of Wikipedia's naming conventions:
Names of Wikipedia articles should be optimized for readers over editors; and for a general audience over specialists.
That would be Joey Negro then, wouldn't it?! :) --kingboyk 19:36, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Somehow I think there is one rule for one and one rule for another...depending on whether or not you are in the clique...

Kingboyk may i bring these two examples to your notice Example number 1:

Norman Giscombe From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Norman Giscombe was born on 10 November 1961 in England. Known simply as Junior, he scored a UK Top 10 hit with “Mama Used To Say”. (Norman Giscombe is the uncle of UK comedian Richard Blackwood who later covered this song in June 2000). His follow-up single, “Too Late” also made the Top 20 charts in the UK. After a period outside the charts, he made a brief return to the UK top 10 in 1987 when he sang a duet with Kim Wilde on “Another Step Closer To You”. He also became involved with the formation of Red Wedge in 1986 with Billy Bragg, Jimmy Somerville, and Paul Weller.

This article is completely at odds in what you are saying as most people would know Junior as Junior...

Om my 1982 Kodak Video Rock Attack Video his is on Track4 and track13 as Junior in the Guinness Book of Hit Singles Junior is used on the chartfor 8 hit singles including his top 10 hit with Kim Wilde then for his 3 MCA solo hits as Junior Giscombe highest no. 32.

In the advert on page 19 of RECORD MIRROR issue of September 29th 1990 he is credited as Junior Giscombe. However as the album Stand Strong (released on MCA 24/9/90) was not a hit most people will know him as Junior for the album Ji.

ALSO...in the Junior page...no mention of Junior!!! the singer of Mama used to say of Junior the other singer who did the Top 30 hit IRISH BLUE with All Around The World Production duo Fluip and Fill...

Example 2

Junior From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Junior may refer to A level of association football played in Scotland, differentiated from the Senior level. Why is there a separate page for Datsun and Nissan? as seen below...then again if you want separate pages...ill put Joey Negro back to its original state

Example 3 Datsun From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Datsun is a former brand used by what is now Nissan, in order to sell their automobiles in North America and Australia. Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datsun"

Example 4 Nissan Motors From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Nissan) Jump to: navigation, search "Nissan" redirects here. For other uses, see Nissan (disambiguation). Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (TYO: 7201 , NASDAQ: #HYPERLINK "http://quotes.nasdaq.com/asp/SummaryQuote.asp?symbol=NSANY&selected=NSANY"NSANY), which formerly marketed vehicles under the Datsun brand name, is a Japanese automobile manufacturer. The company's main offices are located in the Ginza area of Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan. Nissan plans to move their headquarters to Yokohama, Kanagawa by 2010; the headquarters will start construction in 2007. The company marketed vehicles under the Nissan and Datsun brand names until 1983, when the Datsun brand name was dropped. Nissan used to be Japan's second largest car company after Toyota, but it has dropped to third in size after Honda. Due to financial problems throughout the 1990s, the French manufacturer Renault bought a controlling share in the company and installed Carlos Ghosn as president, the first non-Japanese person to run a Japanese car company (Mazda was run by an American, Mark Fields and by Briton Lewis Booth and Mitsubishi was run by a German, Rolf Eckrodt). Under Ghosn's "Nissan Revival Plan" (NRP), Nissan has rebounded in what many leading economists consider to be one of the most spectacular corporate turnarounds in history, catapulting Nissan to record profits and a dramatic revitalization of both its Nissan and Infiniti model line-ups. In 2001, the company initiated Nissan 180, capitalizing on the success of the NRP. Ghosn has since been idolized as a national hero in Japan as a symbol of the strength of the currently ailing Japanese economy, with Ghosn and the Nissan revival story prominently featured in Japanese manga and popular culture. His achievements in revitalizing the Japanese company have been noted by Emperor Akihito, who awarded him the Japan Medal with Blue Ribbon in 2004. Nissan is also noted for being one of the world's leading manufacturers of automobile engines, with its VG and VQ V6 engines appearing on "Ward's 10 Best Engines" for 12 straight years - every year since the award's inception. History In 1914, the Kwaishinsha Motorcar Works (快進自動車工場, Kaishin Jidōsha Kōjō), established three years earlier, in Azabu-Hiroo District in Tokyo, built the first DAT. The new car's name being the acronym of the company's partners' surnames: Kenjiro Den (田 健次郎 Den Kenjirō) Rokuro Aoyama (青山 禄朗 Aoyama Rokurō) Meitaro Takeuchi (竹内 明太郎 Takeuchi Meitarō). The Works was renamed to Kwaishinsha Motorcar Co. in 1918, and again, in 1925, to DAT Motorcar Co Etc etc..

Then again shouldnt all of Dave Lee's stuff be under Jakatta? as this is his most successful project 3 top ten hits compared to Negro project's 1 top 10 5 week stayer...?

[edit] Unblocked

I unblocked your IP, so it should work now. The reason you were blocked was due to collateral damage; the AOL IP address you used to edit was shared by a vandal/troll that I blocked earlier. One of the side effects of editing from AOL, unfortunately. Anyway, if it didn't work or it happens again, let me know. Nufy8 22:19, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

I need to know your IP and what the block message says, because it's not showing up in the logs. Please make sure it says that I'm the one who blocked you. Also, I tried to explaining why you were blocked above, so I assure you it's no jot a joke; it's just an unfortunate side effect of blocking AOL users who actually do something wrong. I might not be around my computer when you let me know your IP and the block message, so you'll want to put {{unblock}} on your talk page. Nufy8 13:57, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Yo Sushi

Yo! Sushi is a restaurant chain that uses the Japanese style Kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt) method of delivering sushi to customers. In each restaurant various sushi dishes and other Japanese cooked foods are prepared in a kitchen in plain view of customers and then set on the thin conveyer belt. The belt carries food around the restaurant in a circuit, allowing diners to pick any dish of the belt as they like for consumption.

The chain was founded by Simon Woodroffe (also known for the TV series Dragon's Den) in 1997 in London, England and from there increased to 24 outlets including stand alone resturants (with additional Yo! Below Bars) and a number of outlets in upscale stores (such as Selfridges). Even though the restaurants are mostly based in England with the majority in London, a number have opened overseas including in Paris, France and the Middle East.

Since 2003, the company has been co-owned by private equity film Primary Capital, with Woodroffe moving into new ventures under the Yo! brand such as the Yotel! chain of hotels.

[edit] Kaiten-zushi

The plates on the conveyor belt and even ordered all have coloured rims and range in price from £1.50 up to £5. Green tea is unlimited for £1 and Miso Soup for £1.50. The menu is extensive with over 100 dishes, and 40 hot ones and the menu is clearly laid out in different sections such as maki, hot classics, tempura and so forth.
