[edit] User Advocacy Requests

Please place advocacy requests here.WormwoodJagger 02:51, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

==Welcome== Hello WormwoodJagger and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. Try to be civil by following simple guidelines and signing your talk comments with ~~~~ but never forget that one of our central tenets is to ignore all rules.

If you want to learn more, Wikipedia:Tutorial is the place to go, but eventually the following links might also come in handy:
Help
FAQ
Glossary
Manual of Style

Float around until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. Additionally, the Community Portal offers a more structured way to become acquainted with the many great committees and groups that focus on specific tasks. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English as well as the cleanup, welcoming, and counter-vandalism committees. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy. If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 23:37, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Upper Canada College

Please accept my welcome, as well. With all possible fingers crossed, I have lifted semi-protection. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide in keeping things cool. Regards, Ground Zero | t 18:10, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the well wishes. I'll certainly do my best to help out with the UCC page. For the time being, I am not going to contribute to the page until I'm sure everything's settled. Thanks for your hard work on it. WormwoodJagger 22:40, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use images on user page

Hi! Please can you update your user page to remove all images that are used in wikipedia under 'fair use'. Fair use only applies when an image is being used to illustrate the subject of an article and therefore these images cannot be used on user pages. JeremyA 01:40, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AMA Roll Call

There is currently an AMA Roll Call going on. Please visit the page and sign next to your name to indicate whether or not you're still active. :-) אמר Steve Caruso (desk/poll) 18:46, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy tag on user page

Why do you have a speedy deletion tag on your user page? —Wknight94 (talk) 00:07, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Advocacy request

Heyo, Steve Caruso here. There is a Request for assistance by Bakemono (talk) on Neurofunk. Would you be willing to take their case? If you will, please leave a note and sign under the entry on WP:AMARQ and change "(pending)" in the heading to "(open)." When you're finished with the case, set it to "(closed)". If you're not able to take the case, please leave me a message on my talk page so I can continue searching for a willing Advocate. Many thanks! אמר Steve Caruso (desk/AMA) 16:27, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Advocacy Acceptance On Neurofunk

I just wanted to say thanks for taking my case, and doing so in such a snappy manner. (I know that's what you AMA guys/gals are here for, but I appreciate it nonetheless.) In any case, I'm just letting you know that I've replied -- possibly in a more detailed fashion than you wanted =P -- to your question(s) on the Neurofunk discussion page. I hope this is satisfactory. If not, however, let me know. Thanks again!

P.S. Also, as I said towards the end of my reply, I truly wouldn't expect much from this guy. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't reply at all.

[edit] 84.44* Is Continually Removing The Cleanup Tags Placed (By You) In Neurofunk

Jagger, I sincerely hope you're starting to get as fed-up with this guy/IP as I've been for weeks now =P. Not only has he not ceased in his personal attacks and unconstruction/vandalizing edits, he's also explicitly ignored your requests to not edit out the cleanup tags until a consensus has been reached and has provided no references to support his subjective, false opinions. Meanwhile, btw, I've been working hard on gathering references for my own future rewrite of the article, digging around damn near everywhere. I would just really like some other knowledgeable members of the DnB community to get involved in the rewrite too, that way it would be entirely even-handed and would take a lot of the burden off of me, because I am a full-time college student. But I think a lot of those people (e.g. Steve) are a bit apprehensive about doing so because this vandal is still around and they feel any and all efforts put into a prospective new article would be for naught. In my opinion, something really needs to be done about this person -- but at this point, I'm sure you're much more familiar with the proper formal, procedural steps than I am -- what do you suggest be done? Obviously threats of action being taken aren't fazing him, and I'm having to rollback his vandalizing edits every single day. I mean, he won't even sign his name properly when posting his ad hominem responses. Anyway, I'll wait for your suggestions.

[edit] Advocacy request

Heyo, Steve Caruso here. There is a Request for assistance by RandomGalen (talk) on Military and economic aid in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. אמר Steve Caruso (desk/AMA/vote for me) 02:28, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello, thank you for accepting the case. Any help you can give in preparing the arbitration would be great as the dispute on the talk page is still being pushed. RandomGalen 10:19, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Neurofunk Semi-protection

Jagger, this is getting nowhere (please see discussion thread). If you still intend to request protection for Neurofunk, please do it as soon as you can. Otherwise, if not, let me know and I will.

[edit] 84.44* Is Registered Now As Kridian

...Which is, coincidentally, an old Ed Rush & Optical track -- imagine that. (Seems it's either Ed Rush & Optical, Matrix, Noisia or Miles Davis with this guy =P.) In any event, I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. However, if taken to a Wiki-admin, I suppose it's a good thing, since all he'll see is his long history of non-useful edits and constant reverts. Regardless, due to the fact that nobody seemed to care about the issue at hand, and no sources were ever cited in support of the Neurofunk material, I went ahead and appropriately redirected the page to Techstep (which he promptly reverted). So, I suppose I'll go ahead and request Semi-protection too. Will they protect a redirect page?

[edit] Neurofunk

Do you still need assistance with Neurofunk? I'm sorry I didn't catch your post earlier (being without the internet is like not having a limb for me, it seems :-) ). אמר Steve Caruso (desk/AMA) 15:28, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding Association of Members' Advocates

Hi, you are receiving this message because you have listed yourself as an active member of WP:AMA. If you aren't currently accepting inquiries for AMA, or if you have resigned, please de-list yourself from Wikipedia:AMA Members. If you are still active, please consider tending to any new requests that may appear on Category:AMA Requests for Assistance. We're going to put AMA on wheels. :) Sorry for the template spamming - we're just trying to update our records, after we had a huge backlog earlier in the week (if you've been taking cases, then sorry, and please ignore this :)). Again, sorry, and thanks! Martinp23 21:11, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
