Wong is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe. He is the loyal and faithful sidekick of Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. Wong first appeared in the comic Strange Tales #147. (Although he was first mentioned in Strange Tales #110) In the 2006 miniseries Dr. Strange: the Oath, it was revealed that Wong stems from a family of monks living in Kamar-Taj. He has a cousin currently in training in the occult and has talked to him about one day replacing Wong as a servant to Dr. Strange.

Wong serves as both bodyguard and manservant to the doctor. He is a master martial artist, capable at incapacitating all manner of terrestrial foe with speed and efficiency. Moreover, he is well-acquainted with the dark arts as servant to Strange. Although Wong can hold his own against mystical forces, he has no magical abilities of his own.

Wong is currently suffering from an inoperable brain tumor; he and the doctor are seeking a mystical cure with the aid of the Night Nurse.

  • Wong appeared alongside Doctor Strange in the 1990s Spider-Man animated series. Wong wielded twin swords that were mystically enhanced. He was voiced by George Takei.
