Wonewoc is a village in Juneau County, Wisconsin, along the Baraboo River. The population was 834 at the 2000 census. The village is located within the Town of Wonewoc.

Wonewoc is located at 43°39′12″N, 90°13′21″W (43.653568, -90.222601)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.7 km² (1.0 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 834 people, 369 households, and 225 families residing in the village. The population density was 309.6/km² (803.3/mi²). There were 392 housing units at an average density of 145.5/km² (377.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.92% White, 0.36% Native American, 0.36% Asian, and 0.36% from two or more races. 0.36% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 369 households out of which 27.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.7% were married couples living together, 11.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.0% were non-families. 35.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.23 and the average family size was 2.82.

In the village the population was spread out with 23.4% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 19.2% from 45 to 64, and 22.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 83.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.2 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $28,393, and the median income for a family was $36,667. Males had a median income of $28,611 versus $20,125 for females. The per capita income for the village was $18,957. About 3.9% of families and 9.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.2% of those under age 18 and 13.1% of those age 65 or over.
