Wilson's School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wilson's School is a boys grammar school in Wallington, Surrey.

The school was founded by Edward Wilson in 1615 and was located in Camberwell until it moved to its current location in 1974. The school became Voluntarily Aided (funded by the state) after World War II. Boys of any faith or none are admitted on an equal basis, based on performance in the entrance test.

Wilson's School was one of the first British state schools to be designated a specialist in Mathematics and Computing, in 2002.

Now also a Badminton Academy

Famous alumni include Michael Caine and John Galliano.

Wilson's currently has approximately one thousand students in years 7-11 and about 300 in sixth form. The sixth form is among one of the best in the country with the majority of students achieving As and Bs.[citation needed]

  • Greencoat
  • This was named after a girl's school that Wilson's had links with while in Camberwell.

  • Hayes
