William of Brandenburg

William of Brandenburg (German: Wilhelm von Brandenburg, * 1498; † 1563) was the Archbishop of Riga from 1539-1561. A member of the Hohenzollern dynasty, William was the son of Margrave Frederick I of Brandenburg-Ansbach, the brother of Albert of Prussia, and the grandson of Albert Achilles of Brandenburg. After his administration as Prince-bishop, Riga was an Imperial Free City from 1561-1581.
