[edit] Recent developments

All three Hart district school modernization efforts have been under scrutiny from parent of students, board members, and other district staff. A recent Hart District audit revealed "questionable business practices and management of funds". Arroyo Seco Junior High School, Saugus High School, and Canyon High School are the three affected schools. Newspaper articles also revealed that these construction projects were not properly approved by the School Board beofre construction took place. Many students were angry at these revealments, but had previously suspected such activities. Said an Arroyo Seco Junior High School student, "This explains a lot. No wonder this modernization plan is being used, it wasn't approved. All this school was modernized for is to cut construction costs. If anything, the school has become worse since modernization. It is less accesible, there is no grass or trees, and no shade. Why do some Hart District students get to go to an amazingly beautiful campus such as Rio Norte JHS, and continue on the beuatiful and modern Valencia High School? I am stuck to go through construction at Arroyo eco and Saugus. This district continues to fail me. I hate the Hart District". In a Signal article, a board member apologizes for the three projects not being as a big success as the new Golden Valley, West Ranch High Schools and Rio Norte and Rancho Pico JHS projects. To students at Canyon, Saugus, and Arroyo Seco, a simple apology doesn't cut it. They need a safe, peaceful, quiet, beatiful campus that was built with their needs in mind.
