William Lyon Mackenzie (fire boat)

William Lyon Mackenzie # 334 is a fire boat for the Toronto Fire Services. Built in the 1964 for the Toronto Fire Department to provide marine fire fighting as well as ice breaking capabilities.

The fire boat is equipped with:

  • snorkel
  • crane
  • water pump
  • water nozzles (7)

The boat is named for Toronto's first mayor William Lyon Mackenzie and docked next to the Toronto Island Ferry Services terminal at the foot of Bay Street and Queen's Quay.
