I'm not really a wild rabbit. I'm not even a domesticated rabbit. I'm a human, which shouldn't be too terribly surprising, all things considered.

Wikipedia is valuable to me as a link farm. Please, try to cite sources that have been posted publicly online, wherever possible.

Also, do try to make mathematics articles readable. It's quite depressing to look at wikipedian math articles and see how convoluted and down-right ugly they are.

And above all, do try to have fun.

[edit] Philosophy

I have been studying philosophy for barely two years. This means I have been able to read only a small fragment of the Western tradition, and I still have much to learn. I keep meaning to learn ancient Greek and Latin, but I never seem to have enough time.

I have written a few essays on Immanuel Kant, but none of them are worth reading. The one essay I've written that is worth reading is on the aesthetics of Leo Tolstoy, and how one could apply his theories on authenticity to music (even though he was more concerned with painting, drawing, and other visual arts). I'm too young to choose a field of study in philosophy yet, but if I had to I think I would choose to become an aesthetician. I'm also interested in semiotics and humanity's role as symbol-makers, particularly Umberto Eco's development of it.

I'm negligibly interested in the philosophy of mathematics, but occasionally I'm called upon to link my two major interests together for one reason or another. I'm not particularly fond of classical logic, either.

[edit] Mathematics

Mathematics was the first love of my life, but recent developments have forced it to take a backseat to philosophy. I'm currently studying model theory and non-standard analysis, partly in order to provide a propaedeutic for engineers forced to learn calculus, and partly because I believe NSA can be a great source of mathematical beauty and inspiration for proofs in standard analysis.

My senior project in mathematics is on applications of the compactness theorem, but this is subject to change...
