[edit] Italian Football Templates

Just a thought but how about getting all these templates set up so that they can all be linked together by using the {fb start} and {fb end} codes such as presently being done on the San Siro page. The 5 star template and the Serie A Stadiums template links togehter nicely.

If we could, I wouldn't mind doing the same for the following templates.

I've tried to do this already yet I just can't seem to get it right. I've coded the Results template already but can't get the Football in Italy and Serie A templates to merge on pages such as Serie A and the different seasons pages. Niall123 11:45, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Anyone think that the Trofeo Birra Moreti and the TIM Trophy should be included on the above template. Basically boils down to both of those cmpetitions being friendlies. I say they should be included on the basis of them being important warm up tournaments for the forthcoming season. Put to public vote I guess. For Niall123 00:54, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Here in Italy there are a lot of friendly competitions in summer, and I really cannot say that Tim Trophy and Trofeo Birra Moretti are so important to be listed in the template. Against – Luxic 19:01, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

I think we should decide a standard for the classifications. Actually we have many different classification "layouts":

  • seasons 2003-04 to 2006-07 and before season 1929-30;
  • seasons 1929-30 to 1932-33 (taken directly from the Italan Wikipedia);
  • seasons 1983-84 to 1990-91;
  • seasons 1991-92 and 1992-93;
  • season 1993-94;
  • seasons 1994-95 to 1999-00.

I see what you're saying. I did most of the later seasons, which I took from Italian wikipedia. I'll try to rejig a few of them to look better. Ideally the 2006-07 table should be used, but there is a hell of a lot of work to redo all the old ones. Plus, the 83-84 one is directly taken from the Italian wikipedia and takes a small bit of editing to suit the English wikipedia. Niall123 01:37, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

The work should be done. We can't leave the articles the way they're know: after all, this is an encyclopedia and a common standard is needed. ;) Obviously, I'll edit them myself as soon as I'll get to them (actually, I'm working on 1920-21 season). CapPixel 00:03, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
I created articles and layouts for classifications and results on Italian Wikipedia (my nickname on that is Murray), so I decided to use those layouts for the informations I inserted, but I did that just because it's easier for me to work on them; then, if you want to change layout to make it more similar to other articles' style, I have no problem with that! P.S. Just one suggestion: on 2006-07 table we should set fixed-pixel widths, because there is a visible discrepancy between some columns (for example, Goals Scored and Goals Conceded). Speirdyke 13:38, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Could someone do the detailed results tomorrow for the Serie A article. I won't be able to do it. You can get the detailed results from [www.skysports.com] in the live scores section. [edit] Classification at the end of each month.

If you take a look at Serie_A_2006-07/November you'll notice that I'm after adding the Round 10 table at the end of the Round 10 results in a collapsable template. Basically, I'd imagine that other here would agree that having the classification after each round would be too bulky. I think this is the best way around this as the template collapses into barely nothing. Any views or comments on this and any ideas to maybe improve on this idea ? As you can see, I have added Round 7 Classification yet as Round 7 table was never created on the front page, only Round 8 was added after Round 6. I'll try to get it done in the next few days. Classification at the end of each round is better than at the end of each month. However, I'd remove the small table at the bottom with the points deduction and simply write them on the note. – Luxic 13:35, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

A small idea but how about focusing on different articles and try to all improve them in one go. I personally think that an area lacking is in player articles. From what I can tell, there are far too manay players without any articles.
From my point of view we should focus on one team each week. How about focusing on the big teams first, especially on the Majority Completed section and get them up to standard. There shouldn't be too much work in doing these ones. After that we'll move onto the other ones. All it takes is doing 1 or 2 per week. If every person did that there would be a huge improvement within a month or 2. Niall123 19:34, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Can't say I mind too much. My view would be to do the first team members first and when a lot of the teams first players are done, might move onto the youth players after. What team do you want to do next ? Considering there's only 8 players left for Livorno , doing that team mightn't be a bad idea if you think its OK ? Niall123
