Wikipedia:WikiProject on Article Verification

The WikiProject on Article Verification seeks to thoroughly check articles for vandalism and create verification checkpoints in the edit history.

[edit] About the WikiProject

Certified participants of the WikiProject examine an article in depth for vandalism, remove any they find, and add a standard edit summary. Future editors can do a quick then-to-now difference in the edit history and easily detect any recent vandalism. In this way, the WikiProject seeks to compound the efforts of dedicated proofreaders with more casual editors, who don't necessarily have time for an in-depth verification.

Note that although certified members can also check fact and make other improvements, that's beyond the scope of this WikiProject. For that, see the Fact and Reference Check WikiProject.

Please do not add yourself to the members list. Feel free to request participation on the talk page and your edit history will be reviewed; this review is very lax, but we don't want new or inexperienced editors performing verification checkpoints.
