This is the WikiProject Eastern Orthodoxy Notice Board. Here you can post announcements or requests for assistance on particular articles.

Note: This page is not for discussions but rather simply to alert other editors to new articles, requests, etc. Discussions and commentary will be removed and instead should be directed at the talk pages of the articles in question.

Please date your additions and remove them if you feel the announcement is no longer new, the request has been fulfilled, etc. Add new additions right after this message.

[edit] Eastern Orthodox Church

I've put up a notice on the talk page for main article for our project suggesting a major rewrite, including several spin-off articles. Please take a look and comment. —Preost talk contribs 12:58, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Russian Orthodox Diocese of Sourozh

I've put up a request for comment on this, but I'd also appreciate assistance from other editors. The Diocese of Sourozh article has been a small battleground for some time now, particularly with NPOV and verifiability issues. Your comments and assistance would be appreciated. —Preost talk contribs 14:28, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

This seems to have gotten a bit better as events have calmed, and improvements in providing references/citations seems to have stopped a lot of the extreme bias and use of the pages for propaganda. Maybe we'll be able to take it off the 'critical list' soon. —Antonios Aigyptostalk 22:21, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
I agree. In fact, Dn Damick (who subsequently changed his name to 'Preost') seems to me to have been the sole cause of the difficulties on the Sourozh page about which he himself complained. (The dispute started through his repeated and unexplained revertive deletions - breaking the 3-revert rule - made against the wishes of other editors: see the summary of the debate which spilled onto the Eastern Orthodox wikiproject here.) However, the Deacon has now 'retired indefinitely' from Wikipedia (see his talk page), and there does not seem to be anyone else who has any difficulty with the Sourozh page as now stands. Therefore, I recommend it be removed from the POV/Verifiability list. Best, Maxim662 13:16, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re-vamp of Eastern Christianity Portal

Following some comments and requests, and a clear need, I've initiated a major re-vamping of the portal, to give it a style in common with most other major portals, and to bring much of its material up to date. I hope others will help with this project! For discussion of the re-vamp and current work on the portal, please use the Portal's Talk page. —Antonios Aigyptostalk 19:49, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
