[edit] Rating
To rate an article, place the template {{maths rating}} on the articles talk page. On pages with a lot of templates you may wish to use {{Maths rating/Small}} together with Wikipedia:Mini Talkpage Template. The class and importance parameters are used to actually rate and article. These parameters will place the article in the appropriate sub category of Category:Mathematics articles by quality and Category:Mathematics articles by importance.
class
- {{maths rating|class=FA}}
- {{maths rating|class=A}}
- {{maths rating|class=GA}}
- {{maths rating|class=Bplus}}
- {{maths rating|class=B}}
- {{maths rating|class=Start}}
- {{maths rating|class=Stub}}
importance
- {{maths rating|class=XXX|importance=Top}}
- {{maths rating|class=XXX|importance=High}}
- {{maths rating|class=XXX|importance=Mid}}
- {{maths rating|class=XXX|importance=Low}}
unassessed
- if either class or importance is missing the article will be placed in Category:Unassessed mathematics articles or Category:Unassessed-importance mathematics articles respectively.
Anyone can add a rating or change an existing rating.
The template has two additional parameters, field and comment.
Field is included for future expansion to break articles up by major fields in mathematics, it currently has no effect. Currently supported values for field are: basics (elementary material and terms used throughout mathematics), analysis, algebra, geometry (includes topology), applied mathematics, probability and statistics, number theory, Discrete mathematics, foundations (logic and set theory), Mathematical physics, history and mathematicians.
Comment is used for a brief comment, usually for suggestions on how the article could be improved to bring it up to the next grade.
