Wheston, Whetstone from Old English hwet stan 'a whetstone', probably referring to places where stone suitable for whetstones was found - A Dictionary of English Place Names, A. D. Mills, pub. Oxford University Press 1993

Whetstone N.20 '(place by) a sharpening stone', alluding either to a a single stone used for this purpose, and large enough to be a land-mark, or in a general way to the presence of such stones in the locality. - Place-names of Greater London, John Field, pub. B. T. Batsford 1980

I request that "Arsene Wenger" (Aresenal FC Manager) be inculded as well as Samatha Fox as a resident of Whetstone. He lives in Tottridge lane. + David Dein (vice-Chairman of Arsenal Footbal club) and chairman of G14.

They both live in Totteridge, not Whetstone! I don't know where Samatha Fox lives or lived.--Osidge 09:30, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
