[edit] Development

Westfield Carousel was built in 1972, and originally contained 58 shops, a hotel, two takeaway food shops, as well as Woolworths supermarket, Boans (later acquired by Myer), Aherns (later acquired by David Jones) and Walsh's. It was developed extensively between 1998 to 1999, and its area was expanded to about twice its original size.
