Western Metropolitan Region, Victoria

The Western Metropolitan Region is one of the eight electoral regions in Victorian Legislative Council. The Region was created during the 2005 redistribution that introduced proportional representation to the council. The electorate covers much of the Labor Party heartland in the western suburbs of Melbourne and includes Craigieburn, Taylors Lakes, Maribyrnong, Williamstown and Werribee.

As no elections have yet been held for the reformed council there are no results to report. However during a typical election this region should return three Labor members and at least one Liberal with the Greens and the Liberals fighting it out for the final seat. [1]
