West Seattle Herald

The West Seattle Herald is a weekly newspaper serving the West Seattle neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. It was founded in 1923. It is part of Robinson Newspapers, which includes the Ballard News-Tribune, White Center News, Highline Times, Des Moines News, and Federal Way News.It is owned by Jerry Robinson (b.1920-) and Elsbeth Robinson. Robinson purchased the White Center News in 1952,the Federal Way News in 1954, expanding it into Des Moines by 1963. He acquired the Highline Times and The West Seattle Herald in 1974. With partner, Al Sneed, he developed Rotary Offset Publishing in 1956, installing the first offset style rotary printing press west of the Mississippi River. Robinson sold the papers in 1989 only to restart them in 1998 after the then publisher ceased operations. He had previously acquired the Ballard News Tribune in 1993. Today the newspapers are operated by his sons Ken and Tim Robinson. Another son, Patrick, maintains all the Robinson Newspaper websites.
