West Dulwich railway station is in the London Borough of Southwark in south London. It is in Travelcard Zone 3, and the station and all trains are operated by Southeastern.
The station is exactly 5 miles from London Victoria.
The train station was opened in 1863 and was originally known as Lower Knight's Hill train station. While Knights Hill (the road) today leads up from West Norwood's main street to Crown Point, the original Knight's Hill (an actual hill) is the hilly land bordered between the western end of Thurlow Park Road (South Circular), Peabody Hill and Lovelace Road, where the adjoining Rosendale allotments in Dulwich stand today. The green area is still marked as Knight's Hill on maps today. The line was built by the South East Dover & Chatham Railway.
The typical off-peak service is two trains an hour northbound to London Victoria (via Herne Hill and Brixton) and two trains an hour southbound to Orpington (via Beckenham Junction & Bromley South).
The station is located east of Croxted Road.
