Wembley, until 1965 a borough in its own right, forms the northern part of the London Borough of Brent. It is a suburban development located 8 miles (12.9 km) west north-west of Charing Cross.
Wembley is the location of the English national football stadium, Wembley Stadium, the home of English National football team and Wembley Arena which for 39 years was the site of the Professional World Singles Tournament in tennis.
