We Live is the fifth album to be released by doom metal band Electric Wizard, and the first recorded with the band's new line-up. As such, it is less psychedelic than previous efforts, with a tighter, harder edge. The additional guitar also means there are more complex guitar passages in songs such as The Sun Has Turned to Black.
Much was made of the acrimonious split between sole remaining member Jus Oborn and ex-members Mark Greening and Tim Bagshaw. Oborn has given few interviews since the original line-up split, but We Live is obviously something of a statement of intent for the band. They are referred to as "The Electric Wizard" for the first time on the album cover, and in the booklet "Electric Wizard II". The booklet also contains the rather unequivocal statement: "My enemies, I fear not...but God protect me from my friends".
