This image, picture-fair-use.jpg, is being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I (Smerdis of Tlön) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- it is a low resolution copy of a comic book cover;
- it does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the comic book in any way;
- copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the comic
- the subject of the article in which it is used is specifically about this sort of character and this sort of art;
- the subject of the article is a trend in commercially published comic books starting in the 1980s, and as such no public domain images are possible that accurately depict the subject matter.
