The Way to Cool 50 Kilometer run is a annual run that starts and ends at Cool, Ca., and is considered a ultramarathon. The race course typically will go on and off of the Auburn County Trail. The typical course will have greater than 7000' of vertical change along it's length. Most of the course is held on single-track trails and fire roads.
The race takes place in March.
It's a very popular race, and the registration that opens in December fills up very quickly.
The race has a very high completion rate with greater that 90% of the starters finishing every year that the race has been held as of 2006.
