Wakefield F.C. are a football club based in Wakefield, Yorkshire, England.

They began in the village of Emley as Emley A.F.C. in the local Huddersfield District League, and graduated via the West Riding League to the UniBond League Northern Premier League.

In 2000/01 season they moved from their original home, the Welfare Ground, to play at the bigger capacity Belle Vue in Wakefield. This was because the Welfare Ground could not extended due to a lack of planning permission.

They then changed their name to Wakefield & Emley FC to include the city of their home ground the following season. They then changed it to Wakefield-Emley FC in the summer of 2004 as Paul David took over the manager's job.

The 2005/06 season was a very difficult one for Wakefield-Emley FC, as players wages were cut by 50% at the end of December to stop the club from going into debt. Therefore, the club struggled and were relegated into the Northern Premier League First Division at the end of the season.

In June 2006 it was announced that the club would be vacating Belle Vue and moving to College Grove, the former home of the defunct Wakefield Rugby Club. Along with the move came a breaking of all ties to Emley as they changed their name to simply Wakefield F.C.

In 2005 some former club officials formed AFC Emley, who are now playing in the Northern Counties East Football League Division One at the Welfare Ground.

In 1998, Emley reached the third round of the FA Cup and played away against Premiership side West Ham United.
