Württemberg-Hohenzollern is a historical state of West Germany. It was created in 1945 by French occupation forces, after the state of Württemberg had been split between the French zone and the USA zone. Württemberg-Hohenzollern was formed out of the southern half of Württemberg and the Prussian administrative region of Hohenzollern. Its capital was Tübingen. In 1952, it was merged into the newly founded state of Baden-Württemberg.
