[edit] Ireland

The flag shown for Ireland is not and was never recognised as the predominant Irish flag. The one shown is the flag of St. Patrick which was created by the English in the late 18th century, primerly so they could incorperate it into their flag (Union Jack). I'm removing the offending item, so that some nice person can replace it with the acknowledged-by-all symbol of Ireland - the Harp. Cheers. Fergananim 21:17, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

As suggested in templates, we should have a User Rep Ireland, for those that live in the republic. this would be consistant with all other countries in europe, as this is a list of locations, not culture. That would allow the tricolour to be added, without controversy, as it would be correct as the flag of the republic. MartinRe 13:09, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Have just done so. As "user Ireland", "User Irish", etc appear to be discussion about culture, etc, I don't think it's appropiate to continue here, as this is a list for locations. MartinRe 13:24, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

The occupied part of cyprus (occupied by the turkish) is not a recognised country so should not be here. I have deleted it --Slogankid 16:54, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
