About me

My name is  Daniel Šebesta. I was born in Písek, South Bohemia, Czech Republic, in 1987, but I live in Prague now.

Although I only recently passed my school-leaving exams, I've been a lexicographer (German and  Czech) for a few years now. Published books I co-worked on include:

  • Němčina pro au pair (German for Au Pair, 1st ed., 2005, ISBN 80-7182-198-5)
  • Německo-český a česko-německý studijní slovník (German-Czech and  Czech-German Learner's Dictionary, 6th ed., 2006, ISBN 80-7182-204-3)

I work as an English-to-Czech, German-to-Czech, and  Slovak-to-Czech translator and  proofreader specializing in technical texts. I am a member of the American Translators Association as well as of the Czech Union of Interpreters and  Translators.

I'm starting German and  Czech studies at Charles University in Prague this October.

I generally focus on articles about literature, esp. Czech, languages, and  about many different things concerning the Czech Republic and  its history, politics, etc.

As I don't have  very much time, I often only correct and/or expand existing articles. I am  also active on the Czech Wikipedia.
