[edit] Life after "Viva La Bam"
He appeared on the second season of Celebrity Fit Club on VH1. When CFC2 began, Phil weighed in at 353 pounds. He lost the most weight on the show, losing a total of 41 pounds, down to 312 pounds. In season 4, both BoneCrusher and Tina Yothers beat Margera's record, losing 51 and 42 lbs., respectively.
During a weigh-in on the show, Phil claimed his reason for losing weight was to extend his life in order to spend more time with his granddaughter, Ava.
As shown on a Viva La Bam spring break special, Phil and April Margera remained in the home that Bam moved out of at the beginning of Season 2.
[edit] Trivia
- Phil appears as an unlockable character(with tightie whities) in the video game Tony Hawk's Underground 2.
- Despite his son Bam's reputation of crazy, wild, and all around out of line antics, Phil is, amazingly, able to put up with everything his son does, one of which includes appearing on episodes of Jackass and Viva La Bam where Bam inevitably slaps and pushes Phil around all day long like a deranged maniac. Even after all of the abuse, most of the time on the shows one finds Phil watching and laughing at what Bam and his crew are doing, even if it is a cruel prank on Phil's wife and Bam's mother, April Margera ("Ape").
- He looks after his son Bam's finances. When Bam was asked if he would care if Phil ever ran away with it, Bam said he deserved the money.[1]
- Phil has his own range of skateboard bushings entitled "Phil's Donuts".
- Phil's profession is a baker.
- His heritage includes Italian and Pennsylvania Dutch decent. His mother is part Amish and was from Lititz, Pennsylvania in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
