Israeli Military decorations

The Israeli Military decorations are the decorations awarded to soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces who exhibit extraordinary bravery and courage.

Its decorations consist of Medal of Valor (the highest decoration in the IDF), the Medal of Courage, and the Medal of Distinguished Service. It also includes the Ramatkal, Aluf, Brigadier-General, and Brigade Commander citations.

Two soldiers in the IDF share the most decorated soldier title: Major Nechemya Cohen (1943-1967) and former Prime Minister, former Minister of Defense, and former Chief of Staff, Ehud Barak. Both have five deocrations: one Distinguished Service Medal and four Ramtkal citations.
