This article is about the city in Mie Prefecture. For the old province of Japan, see Ise province.

Ise (伊勢市; -shi), formerly called Ujiyamada, is a city located in Mie Prefecture, on the island of Honshū, Japan. Very popular among visitors for its traditional beauty, Ise is part of Ise-Shima National Park.

During the Edo period, Ise was a popular pilgrimage destination.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 98,819 and the density of 552.15 persons per km². The total area is 178.97 km².

The city was originally founded as Ujiyamada on September 1, 1906. After twice merging with neighboring areas, it was renamed Ise on January 1, 1955.

Ise is the site of the Ise Shrine, the most important Shinto shrine in Japan, dedicated to the goddess Amaterasu.

One of its most famous culinary products is a Japanese sweet made with red bean paste and mochi known as akafuku.
