Into the Land of the Unicorns

Into the Land of the Unicorns is a fictional children's book that is part of the The Unicorn Chronicles series by Bruce Coville. The series follows a girl named Cara, whose grandmother gives her an amulet that allows her to pass through into Luster, the land of the unicorns. While there she meets up with some fantastic creatures who end up helping her on her journey.

- Cara - Young girl whose grandmother gives an Amulet to get into Luster. Raised on the run by her grandmother, who is a "Wanderer" between the many histories of our planet.
- Lightfoot - Unicorn who helps Cara get to Summerhaven to see the Queen.
- Dimblethum - A bearlike person. Saves Cara from a goblin-like Delver and also helps her on her journey.
- Thomas the Tinker - Carries a wagon that can fold up in his pocket. Runs into Cara and her friends later on in the journey.
- Firethroat - Dragon who gives Cara the gift of tongues. Wise and philosophical.
- Old One - Queen of the Unicorns and lives in Summerhaven.
- Squijim - Funny looking animal who is always comical with Cara and those with her.
- The Wanderer - Cara's grandmother.
- Delvers - Evil little things who hate light and are always causing trouble.
- Beloved - Cara's paternal ancestor who has a piece of Unicorn horn in her heart. Hates all those who do not make her feel loved. Lives forever. Evil. Goal- destroy unicorns, who had disappointed her namesake desire.
