IFC which stands for Independent Film Channel is a Canadian category 1 digital cable television channel which features dramatic and non-fiction independent films; documentaries and television series about the film making process and the world of filmmakers. The channel is owned by Alliance Atlantis Communications. Its current slogan is "Where All The Cool Movies Go".
Licensed as The Independent Film Channel Canada on November 24, 2000 by the CRTC; the channel launched as Independent Film Channel on August 15, 2001.
