Imaging for Windows from Global 360 is document imaging software which scans paper documents into electronic documents that you can view, edit, print and distribute via Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange, intranets, and the Internet.

Imaging for Windows reduces the manual entry and re-entry, printing, photocopying, and distribution of paper-based documents common to most day-to-day work. Desktop scanning (using Twain compliant scanners)and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) replace manual entry; annotation does away with paper memos and stick on notes.
Global360 Imaging for Windows is the upgrade to the Imaging software included in Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME and Windows NT/2000 and is suitable for Microsoft Windows XP.
Imaging for Windows was developed by Wang, was later absorbed by Kodak (as Eastman Software) then becoming eiStream Inc. and is now owned by Global 360 Inc.
[edit] Operating systems supported
Imaging for Windows is included as a Windows 95, 98, NT, ME and 2000 accessory (supported by Microsoft and often referred to as Microsoft Imaging) that you can use to create, annotate, view, and print TIFF, BMP, and Microsoft Fax (AWD) image documents. You can also view and print JPEG and PCX/DCX images.
[edit] Imaging and Windows XP
Imaging for Windows (and the related controls ImgScan.ocx, ImgAdmin.ocx, ImgEdit.ocx, and ImgThumb.ocx) is no longer included in Windows XP, you must now purchase a licence separately. You cannot legally install an older version of Wang/Kodak/Microsoft Imaging for Windows on Windows XP.

Imaging for Windows also provides the ability to develop software using ActiveX tools. Each copy includes the Kodak/Wang Imaging OCX (ActiveX) controls - ImgEdit, ImgAdmin, ImgThumb, ImgScan and ImgOCR controls are provided.
