Dubai Silicon Oasis

Dubai Silicon Oasis is a technology park under-development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates which was launched in January, 2005, aiming to become a world center for electronic innovation, research, and development. The project's establishment was decreed by the former ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum in September 2004[1], and is due for completion by November, 2006. The project is to span over 7.2 million squre meters and has entered phase one of the construction which includes the construction of 560 residential villas[2]. As of current, DSO holds the region's only center for electronic design and innovation. Among current partners due to enter DSO are LSI Logic, Mindspeed Technologies and Synopsys[3] [4] [5].
