Druidawn is a magical world created by young writers. The premise of this world is that all the magical creatures which used to live on Earth, such as unicorns and dragons, have not become extinct or disappeared, but have been re-located to another planet created for them by an ancient space-faring race known as the Druids. At some later point in Earth's history, a ship sent to colonize a distant world crash-lands on the planet, bringing in a science fiction element. Druidawn is split into twelve territories, each ruled by an immortal overlord. The world of Druidawn and the towns in it were all designed as a group project by many young authors in varying ages.

[edit] Legends of Druidawn
Legends of Druidawn is the official Druidawn role-playing game, a creative writing curriculum combined with a game to inspire children to write. Legends of Druidawn was designed by Miriam Darnell, a language arts teacher at Brideun School for twice exceptional children. She designed the game to help motivate young male students to write, and has had particular success with her learning-disabled students. It combines creative writing with a dice-based game similar to Dungeons and Dragons with a system of story writing to inspire children to write stories and be creative.
