The Dorna or Lark is a jet powered Iranian training aircraft. The aircraft was first publicised in 1999 when Iranian air force General Habibollah Baghal claimed that a locally designed Dorna trainer aircraft had entered production. They are now being mass produces[1].
[edit] Tazarv
The JT2-2 Tazarv is the name applied to the third prototype of the Dorna trainer. The Tazarv is also apparently a completely indigenous design except for their General Electric J85 engines. These engines are the same as those used in Iran's aging fleet of F-5E fighters, except with the afterburners removed. [2]
