Donna Hanover - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Donna Hanover

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Donna Hanover is an Ameican actress and the morning show co-host for WOR radio in New York. She is a graduate of Stanford University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

She was married to American politician and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani for many years, but they divorced in 2002.

She was a radio and television journalist in Pennsylvania and Florida, before moving to New York in the 1980s with Giuliani. She was the lead anchor for the 10 p.m. newscast on WPIX channel 11 in New York during the 1980s, leaving that role during Giuliani's unsuccessful 1989 bid for mayor.

In 1994, Hanover became First Lady of New York City. In this role, Hanover promoted various health and educational causes around the city and was active in the city's civic life. In addition to her duties as First Lady, Hanover was a features reporter for local station WNYW (channel 5) and an anchor on the Food Network. She also appeared in the feature film Ransom as a WNYW reporter. Hannover has appeared in episodes of Law & Order, Family Law and The Practice.

In April, 2000, Hanover scandalized some portions of the nation by accepting the lead role in playwright Eve Ensler's variously controversial or vulgar play, The Vagina Monologues.

Hanover's marriage to Giuliani started to end following reports of his affair with Judith Nathan and alleged affair with Cristyne Lategano. The two separated in 2000 and divorced shortly after he left office in 2002. They have two children.

Hanover later reconnected with, and married, college sweetheart Ed Oster
