Dokurog (ドクロッグ Dokuroggu?) are one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Dokurog in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]
Its name is likely a portmanteau of doku, Japanese for poison, and the English word for frog.
[edit] Appearance
Dokurog resembles a large bipedal frog or toad. Its coloring and toxicity is consistent with poison dart frogs. Its most noticable feature is a swollen, red vocal sack (a feature only present in frogs and toads), which is smaller in female Dokurog. Frogs require moist skin for respiration. Dokurog and its pre-evolution Gureggru's ability Dry Skin matches this. If it rains, HP rises. If it is sunny, it decreases.
[edit] In the video games
Dokurog can be obtained by evolving Gureggru; it can also be found in the Safari Zone in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, albeit rarely. Dokurog's Attack power is its best stat with a base value of 106; its Speed is also somewhat good. However, Dokurog's other stats, especially its Special Attack are average to low. Its typing gives it a quadruple weakness to Psychic attacks, as well as a double weakness to Flying and Ground attacks; it also has a quadruple resistance to Bug attacks, along with a double resistance to Grass, Fighting, Poison, Rock and Dark attacks.
