Aside from being the oldest online digital music community, DMusic.com is a hosting platform for artists. They have built website technology to allow musicians to plug their official websites in to their platform, enabling them to add far more interactive components to their website than they normally could. DMusic is a portal front end for all of these sites, plus the hundreds of artists who sign up for simple templated pages they can administer through some of the same tools the official websites have.
DMusic is also a source for digital music news, reviews, information and a highly interactive environment for users to interact with their favorite DMusic musicians and other DMusic users from all around the world.

DMusic was orginially created as part of a larger network of both art and music related websites along with deviantART.
In 1997, high school sophomore Angelo Sotira founded a company he called Dimension Music. It became a huge success, and he sold it in 1999 to Michael Ovitz and his Lynx Technology Group. It became part of DMusic Network,LLC. In 2001, the company was again sold, this time to L. Feldman who presides over it today with J. Knapp and a dedicated staff. And along the way--Dimension Music became DMusic, the oldest digital music community on the internet.

Artist's Page As a DMusic artist, artists are automatically given an artist page, which is in addition to their user page. Artist pages show artist pics and the music they have uploaded. Listeners can stream in lofi or hifi, download an artist’s music, comment on and rate the tracks, post on the artist’s forum board, read artist news, check out what events that are coming up, and see who else is viewing the artist’s page
Forums On DMusic, the forums are a key part of the community. Participants are free to ask questions, talk about music, exchange information about hardware or software, or anything else they may want talk about.
DMusic Radio DMusic has several assorted streaming radio channels with tracks from many of popular genres. For each channel, there’s also a link that takes a listener to that particular channel’s forum thread, so that a listener can read and, if a registered user, add their Radio comments and suggestions.
Gear Up The Gear Up section is a combination of hardware and software reviews and articles, all targeted at allowing a user to "gear up life." This section provides tutorials and reviews on the best hardware and software to enhance a users needs.
Copyright In order to use music tracks online, to sell them at the DMusic download and CD store, to sell tracks through DMusic on Walmart.com and Real/Rhapsody artists must copyright their tracks. DMusic assists artists to federally register copyrights for their tracks for a fee. DMusic will have the application reviewed by an attorney and submitted to the U.S. Copyright Office.
DMusic Awards To showcase talent and recognize great musical achievements, the DMusic Awards iwere started in 2005. Winners are first nominated by members of the DMusic community in their respective genres and then go for site wide votes.
DMusic Store Tons of new albums, including works by artists of Lost Gold Records, which was acquired by DMusic in mid-2004.
