Distant Soundz is one of the pseudonyms of British dance artist Mark Shrimpton. Shrimpton has released various singles on vinyl and CD under the name.

Distant Soundz recorded and released a cover of Cyndi Lauper's classic 1984 ballad "Time after Time." The track received considerable airplay in the UK, and a video was made.

Distant Soundz performed the hit live on various TV appearances including Channel 4, BBC Wales, Pop Factory and the Legendary BBC 1 Top Of The Pops. Also credited as one of the only UK Garage records to be played on BBC R2, with Steve Wright championing the single on his afternoon show.

Now widely regarded as a ‘Club Classic’ its still as big as ever in clubs across the UK & Europe. Following this was the ‘DJ Sasha’ supported ‘Distant Soundz – Runaway’ that became a firm Party Capital 95.8 favourite. Various performances of the single where made at Capital Radio ‘Party in the Parks’ and Emap ‘Feel the Noise’ events.

Released on Incentive / Ministry of Sound ‘Runway’ has featured on countless Compilation CD’s, DVD’s, TV Programmes and even a Microsoft Xbox commercial.

‘Distant Soundz’ next single titled ‘Just Wanna Luv U’ featured vocalist Damae from the Million selling dance act ‘Fragma’. Again receiving great support across the Capital Network, the single gained various airplay both in the UK and Oversea's.

Released on the Inferno Label ‘Just Wanna Luv U’ has been featured on various leading compilation CD’s and used on various TV inc. CBBC.

Distant Soundz ‘Stay (With The Sun Comin Up)’ pending release on UK Based Gut / Gusto Records was first supported in the UK by BBC Radio One DJ, 'Judge Jules'.

Distant Soundz have also been credited for remixes on various UK Chart successes for different artists.

While never officially released as a single, the track "Jack and Mark Get Busy" appeared in Konami's 2001 rhythm-action game "beatmania 6th MIX: The UK Underground Music." There is no other version of the song available besides the 1:26 mix included in the game and on its soundtrack.
