Deram Records
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Deram Records was set up by Decca Records (UK) ostensibly as a label for "alternative" or "progressive" artists. It was active from 1966 until 1973. Decca positioned it against Harvest Records (launched by EMI) and Vertigo Records (launched by Philips Records), but it failed to compete long-term. The label was used again in 1982 for the release of "Really Saying Something" by Bananarama.
It nevertheless became a home for artists such as:
- Amen Corner
- David Bowie (debut album)
- Brotherhood Of Man
- Camel
- Caravan
- Egg
- Bill Fay
- Flirtations
- Frijid Pink
- Giles, Giles and Fripp
- Galliard
- Honeybus
- Keef Hartley
- Iron Virgin
- Stavely Makepeace
- The Moody Blues
- The Move
- Procol Harum
- Room
- Cat Stevens
- Streak
- White Plains
- Ten Years After
- Zakarrias
