David "The Crow" Loiseau (b. December 17, 1979) is a Haitian-Canadian mixed martial arts fighter from Montreal, Quebec. He has also fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and TKO Major League MMA and is currently the TKO Middleweight Champion.

[edit] Biography

David Loiseau was born on December 1, 1979 in Montreal. As a kid he had originally wanted to be a professional boxer, however his parents did not like this idea and put him into karate lessons instead. This would lead to his love of martial arts and him later becoming a Mixed Martial Arts fighter. Loiseau graduated from College Jean-Eudes high school in Montreal, Quebec.

[edit] Mixed martial arts career

Well known for his Tae Kwon Do, and devastating elbow strikes, David Loiseau has had an impressive mixed martial arts career, boasting a professional record of 14-6-0 with victories over well known fighters such as Evan Tanner, Charles McCarthy and Gideon Ray. At UFC 58, Loiseau endured a gruelling five-round championship bout with UFC Middleweight Champion Rich "Ace" Franklin, but was unable to pull off a victory. Throughout the entire fight, Rich "Ace" Franklin, the fighter with a strength advantage, overpowered Loiseau for the full five rounds, although Loiseau still managed to score a knockdown with a punch in the third round. On September 23, 2006 David Loiseau fought against Mike Swick at UFC 63. As the first round began Loiseau appeared very tentative and was not the aggressor of the fight. Swick landed unanswered punches on Loiseau and the first round was very one sided. Despite the advice of his corner, Loiseau was still tense but did launch more of an attack. Near the middle of the round Loiseau landed several solid leg kicks on Swick, however Swick once again pressed the attack and took Loiseau to the ground as, well as winning the stand up battle again. In the third and final round Loiseau had loosened up a bit and was fighting more reminecent of his usual style. Loiseau pressed the action and took Swick to the ground where he began to drop his lethal elbow strikes to Swick's head. Swick worked frantically to get out from under Loiseau and up to his feet again. Loiseau once again pressed the attack and overpowered Swick, forcing him into the fence. Loiseau once again unleashed some standing elbow strikes putting Swick in trouble; Swick then shot for the takedown and finished the fight in David Loiseau's full guard. Loiseau's actions in the third round were not enough to win him the fight as he lost to Mike Swick by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the Bout (29-28) for Swick. After the Swick fight, the UFC dropped Loiseau from their roster.[1] Currently David is training with Ken Shamrock for The IFL leauge and will be a part of Ken Team California Lions
