Dave Wills born June 1974) is a well-known professional wrestling fan who is noted for his viral video.
At a wrestling convention in South Carolina November 2005, Wills attended and met many of his personal favorite wrestlers and got pictures taken with them. Later on in the day, a question and answer session took place that included Terry Funk, Jim Cornette, Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey and Moderator Bill Apter. Wills was listening to sobering stories about the numerous deaths in pro wrestling and was saddened about the condition that some of the wrestlers present were in.
Wills was given an opportunity to ask a question to the panel, and he was overcome with emotion and started crying. He started by saying, "I just want to thank each and every one of you for all you've done to your bodies." He then wept a bit and exclaimed, "It's still real to me, damn it!" Condrey told him to "Take it easy". Wills continued by stating, "Thank you, guys. You're awesome. Thank you so much, Mr. Funk, for saying what needed to be said. I don't want to see another one of these." This was a reference to wrestling deaths and comments Funk made earlier about how current wrestlers needed to clean up their acts and steer the next generation of wrestlers into a better path. Funk thanked Wills for his praises.
Although most versions of the clip only go that far, about 15 more seconds into it, Wills asks, "I'd just like to hear each of your recollections of a true legend of the business, "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch."
This clip has been featured on numerous humor and video websites and was shown on Jimmy Kimmel Live in early 2006.
Wills has since taken advantage of this notoriety and is booked on wrestling events in the southeast United States and has been a guest on many wrestling radio shows and Wrestling podcasts.
Wills is married and resides in Marietta, GA. For his day job, Wills works in Management in the service industry.
