Alien Nation was a television show from the Fox Network that lasted a single season, and ended in 1990 with a cliffhanger series finale. Alien Nation: Dark Horizon was a television movie produced in 1994 that picked up right where that television series left off. Alien Nation: Dark Horizon starts out with two of the supporting characters falling victim to a newly developed bacteria infection that was created by a group of human purists. Running parrallel to this plot is the story of Ahpossno, who is an Alien Overseer who has landed on Earth to investigate an Overseer signal sent into space. The idea of the signal sent into space by the surviving Overseers was explored in the Alien Nation episode Contact. Ahpossno's mission is to find any surviving Tenctonese and bring them back into slavery.
Dark Horizon was written by Andrew Schneider & Diane Frolov, and was directed by Kenneth Johnson.
