7 Days (Ireland)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
7 Days (previously Seven Days) was a current affairs programme that was broadcast on Radio Telefís Éireann in Ireland in the 1960s and 1970s.
The first programme was broadcast on September 26, 1966 and quickly became the station's flagship current affairs programme. Among its presenters were John O'Donoghue, Bill O'Herlihy, Brian Farrell and Brian Cleeve. In 1967 the programme was merged with another current affairs programme, Division.
The current affairs programme, which often tackled subjects of public controversy in a forthright manner, found itself at the centre of several issues of conflict between RTÉ and the Irish Government in the late 1960s, which would lead to the resignation of one of the RTÉ executives.
The show was the first RTÉ-produced show to be shown in colour by RTÉ, although colour transmissions of imports predated it.
